Kamloops is considered the gateway to the Canadian Rockies’ many national parks such as Mount Revelstoke NP; Glacier NP; Yoho (Cree word meaning wonder or astonishment) NP (which offers one of the world’s greatest one day walks, the Iceline Trail for the shorter route via Twin Falls to Emerald Lake and whitewater rafting on the Kicking Horse River); Banff NP and Jasper NP (the largest park in the region). There are visits to Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls
(Canada’s highest waterfalls), Lake Louise, Bow River and Bourgeau Lake (half day hike for the more adventurous). Between Jasper NP and Banff NP, is one of the world’s most beautiful drives, the Icefields Parkway that winds its way through the heart of the Rockies taking in Peyto Lake, Parker Ridge Trail, Saskatchewan Glacier views and Athabasca Glacier for a guided glacier hike. One can also walk along the brink of the Sunwapta or Athabasca Falls. |

Spectacular walks and hikes can also be taken in Maligne Canyon, Mount Baldy, Opal Mountain and Five Lakes within the Jasper NP. |
