AUSTRALIA (General):

Australia is purely and simply a paradise for bushwalkers/hikers. Each state and territory has something unique to offer every type of bushwalker from the most casual to the more avid and adventurous. The continent is renowned for its beauty and extreme diversity in its dramatic landscapes and natural environment.  There are countless scenic National Parks, State Forests and Reserves scattered around the country that welcome visitors to explore their individual and special land and water formations, their flora & fauna varieties, their climatic differences and their unspoiled conditions.
If wishing to take a guided tour and escorted bush treks, there are many companies offering their services for a wide range of locations, comfort styles, budgets etc.
The National Parks & Wildlife Service also run their Discovery walks, talks and tours which are usually held in school holidays but some activities take place throughout the year. Alternatively, one can travel individually having done the necessary research concerning the area(s) involved regarding available facilities, remoteness, nearest inhabited areas etc.
Australia is truly a nature-travel destination featuring some of the most recognized natural features in the world.  Ancient mountains, lush forests, wild rivers, alpine peaks, glacial lakes and its spectacular coastline. Whether easily accessible or more remote, Australia has it all for a never-to-be-forgotten hiking holiday/vacation.
